The innovational mechanism for disseminating and delivering agro-consultancy services – Agropedia was installed in the municipalities of Racha-Lechkhumi and Lover Svaneti, Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti and Samtskhe-Javakheti regions.
The project was implemented with the financial facilitation of the project of the United Nations Development Program Georgia (UNDP) with the financial support of the Swiss Development and Cooperation Agency (SDC) (“Modernization of Vocational Education and Training system (VET) related to agriculture in Georgia).
Agropedia is a constantly updatable online agro-library. It contains all necessary info and recommendations for farmers and small-scale entrepreneurs which are loaded in a special computer. For needed info or a recommendation one can touch a screen and search.
Overall content is comprised of agro material and literature, that is completely adoptable to agro-consultancy service needs and presentable in a format that is easily comprehensible for famers.
Agropedia is the biggest and constantly updatable electronic agro-library throughout the country. It contains some essential materials and recommendations At this stage it contains more than 2000 articles about various priority subject-matter areas in agriculture.
Agropedia materials are subject to be updated and upgraded on a content basis.
Management of Agropedia devices is centralized, which means, that many agro-Kiosks, placed in various places, can be managed by one computer (updating content, adding materials, changing interface, counting the usage of each Kiosk and act.).
The main goal of Agropedia-project is to establish the access to the digital agro-extension services for the farmers and specialists operating in public agro-extension services.
