The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the Association for Agricultural Development (ADA) have signed an agreement.
Within the framework of the above-mentioned agreement it is planned to organize the project demonstration plots and to provide practical and theoretical training courses for farmers and the specialists of the agricultural fields – mainly for the state extension agents.
The project demonstration plots are planned to be arranged in the villages of Tsageri, Oni, Kaspi and Khashuri municipalities. The most demandable agricultural crop varieties will be selected for production on the demo-plots and the production-handling processes of the selected target agricultural plants will be provided in accordance with the recommendations of the experts of the Agricultural Development Association.
Besides, under the scope of the project it is planned to implement the practical and theoretical training series for farmers and public extension agents operating in the target-municipalities. The trainings will be conducted on demo plots with farmers (disaggregated by sex, at least 30% women, age group and other relevant social determinants) and farmer organizations, with target beneficiaries of at least 200 throughout the project lifetime. The logistics of the training should be gender-responsive, so both women and men from all ages, including those most vulnerable are enabled to engage in the training.
