
The professional Needs Assessment was provided of the specialists working in the regional and municipal agro-extension services of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia.
The assessment was commissioned by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and aim of the research was to elaborate the needed training-educational programs focused on the professional capacity building of the public extension service providers.
Within the framework of the above mentioned assessment the distance testing of the public agro-extension providers was conducted in 54 municipalities of Georgia.
The distance testing of the public agro-extension providers in the following agricultural fields:
- Viticulture.
- Beekeeping.
- Veterinary.
- Agro-Chemistry.
- Plants Chemical Protection.
- Horticulture.
- Vegetable Growing.
- Fruit Growing technology.
- Citrus growing technology.
- Wine Technoplogy.
- Phytopathology.
- Entomology.
- Post-harvest handling Technology.
More than 2500 test-questions were elaborated by ADA in the above mentioned agricultural fields.
Based on the results of testing the relevant report was elaborated by ADA and delivered to FAO.
The report contains the testing results and recommended educational program topics for the public extension service providers according to the municipalities.
